Fishermen

He asked the fisherman,
will you leave your nets?
Will you set your fish free?
Will you follow me?
Suddenly their hands opened wide
empty nets floated on the water,
fish swam free in the sea.
They took a chance,
swallowed a seed of faith,
casting their nets on new seas.
Spent the rest of their days, fishing for hearts,
that longed to be free.
I ask myself,
do my hands cling to old nets,
in familiar seas.
