Toss your scrapings on the floor
and watch the roaches flock to feed
on filth, and breed, and make a home.
Stuff them in a garbage bag
and seal it tight, ignored and out
of sight, till something noxious blooms.
Or place your scraps in open air,
on full display—and day by day
a feast is laid to please the face of earth.
