guidelines

poetry:

  • See “About” section to get a feel for what kind of poetry we are looking for
  • Up to 5 poems per submission
  • Poems can be any length
  • Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please inform us if your piece is accepted elsewhere

prose:

  • Prose is distinct from poetry in that it has a more natural flow of speech & structure; see “About” section to get a feel for what we are looking for
  • Less than 1,000 words
  • One prose piece per submission
  • Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please let us know if your piece is accepted elsewhere

musings:

  • In Musings, we are looking for thoughts about the Lord. It could be a few paragraphs meditating on a specific Bible verse, extolling a characteristic of the Lord, or pondering on how to respond, as a believer, to life’s circumstances.
  • No less than 500 words, no more than 1,000
  • Single-spaced please

how to submit

Please email your submission in an attached file in a .pdf, .docx, or .doc to [email protected] , along with your name and a short bio. In the subject line, indicate what kind of submission you are sending us. (Poetry, Prose, or Musing)

We're honored to review your work! Clayjar Review asks for first time rights and acknowledgement as the first place of publication. Published pieces will be archived on our website as well.
